Idea
After over 20 collective years working in the business we decided to create iTreecycle and make a difference. The concept was simple. Supply high quality eco friendly products and services and plant a tree in your name on every occasion. That means one tree is planted for every product we sell, no matter how small. This way our customers could achieve peace of mind, knowing that every time they consume something they also put something back. This is our idea of completing the cycle.
People
We are a young dynamic company with plans to change the world and the way we do business. This is who we are.
Lucy Ann Ash heads the company and is famous for her wonderful home cooked lunches that she often prepares for all the staff. Lucy is an inspiration to all who know her, never flustered and prepared to help wherever necessary. Lucy takes a keen interest in our design and online activity.
Yvonne Liew is the co-founder and graduated from Helsinki University with a masters in Business Administration. We all agree here that she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Yvonne likes very much to make sure everything runs smoothly. She has an incredible ability to remain focused and never lose her cool.
Sophia and Dylan are our inspiration. We hope the work we do will help make their future world healthy and sustainable. They are the children of Lucy, and are often found running around the offices. If you hear children next time you call us, it is probably them. Sophia and Dylan are particularly fond of the fax machine.
The rest of our management team, or our family as we like to think, is made up of warm, generous, and likeable people from all over the world. Each member of our team brings their own unique qualities and enriches the company.
Trees

We decided to plant trees for a number of reasons. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports that deforestation is the single largest contributor to CO2 emissions, accounting for 20% of all emissions globally. The World Resources Institute has estimated that around 80% of the world's original natural forests have been destroyed. Furthermore scientists at The Royal Society have shown that trees absorb almost 20% of man's carbon emissions.
All our trees are planted with our official partner Tree Nation. Tree Nation works in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, this official guarantee means our customers can be sure they are making a real difference. Every customer receives official certificates for the trees planted in their name. Tree Nation enables our customers to interact with their own virtual trees that represent each real tree planted in Niger, Africa. Every tree reduces CO2 by 500kg, and reduces poverty by providing local employment. The amazing Acacia Senegal tree fights against the desertification in Niger and assists the growth of agricultural foods and medicinal plants.

Products & Services
We aim to bring you the highest quality eco friendly products. By working closely with our business partners, that includes some of the most successful manufacturers and distributors in the world, we are able to deliver you new and innovative products and services. We believe in responsible consumption. Where we recognize the need to give when we take, and to take with consideration.
By using products that cause less damage to the earth, by recycling as much as possible, and by planting trees on every occassion, together we are taking a big step towards ensuring our survival.
Eco Policy
As well as providing high quality eco friendly products and services, and planting thousands of trees. We also take an active role internally to ensure our carbon footprint is as small as possible. Here are just some of the various measures we take when working for you.
- We use a state of the art cloud based CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. In 2008 this cloud based system saved over 30 million pounds / 40 million euro in energy bills.
- We host our website using 100% renewable green energy sources to power the data center and web servers. Our website supports a number of green energy providers, including numerous solar and wind energy sources.
- We calculate the electricity used by computers visiting our site, the servers providing it, and the networks connecting them. We then purchase enough renewable energy to neutralize all the carbon emissions.
- We provide the vast majority of our product information in electronic format. Greatly reducing resources that would normally be used in printing and distribution.
- In communicating with our customers and business partners we try to do as much as possible by telephone and email. Thereby reducing the amount of travel, and distribution of printed material.
- We provide our customers and business partners with an online portal to more effectively manage all aspects of the relationship. Helping us all to be more efficient and use less resources.
- We use all our own products in house.
- The overwhelming majority of iTreecycle employees either cycles or takes public transport to and from work.
- When we have to print we print double sided and use recycled paper.
- A key element of the beautiful iTreecycle design work is that simple works best. From our universal letter design to our eco packing tape we are able to use less resources and yet offer over 30,000 products across Europe.
- We don't use plastic cups. We try not to turn our lights on during the day. We turn our computers off when we go home. And we recycle everything we can.
