We offer a free printer cartridge recycling service for organisations large and small. We collect all laser and inkjet cartridges and ensure that as much as possible is reused and whatever is left over is recycled.

Service
Our free printer cartridge recycling service is beautifully simple. We send you unlimited collection boxes for your empty printer cartridges. We collect the boxes when they are full. And we give you one tree for every full box we collect. Our aim is threefold. To recycle used printer cartridges in the most eco friendly way available. To reward recycling and plant as many trees as possible. And to spread the word about iTreecycle.
Our recycling boxes come in 2 sizes. The standard box (76x40x60 cm) holds 20-30 laser cartridges. The pallet box (85x120x100 cm) holds 40-60 laser cartridges. Inkjet cartridges also placed inside the box will of course be recycled.
Recycling
An important theme of the EU WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is the reuse of equipment. Reuse has significant environmental benefits over traditional recycling. Reuse means new products don't need to be built. And reuse requires less energy than breaking equipment down to its raw materials and putting it back through the manufacturing process.
We work with the largest remanufacturer of printer cartridges in the world. Through them we are able to ensure that as much as possible is reused to make new high quality cartridges for brands such as IBM. Any parts that are unable to be reused, and all packaging materials, are carefully separated and recycled. The recycling services are guaranteed with the following accreditations.

For every standard size box we collect you receive one tree. And for every pallet size box you receive two trees. We decided to plant trees as our reward for recycling as the concept seemed to fit so well. Recycling is great for the environment, and so is planting a tree. We believe the combination is the most environmentally friendly recycling service in the world today.
We plant trees for a number of reasons. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports that deforestation is the single largest contributor to CO2 emissions, accounting for 20% of all emissions globally. The World Resources Institute has estimated that around 80% of the world's original natural forests have been destroyed. Furthermore scientists at The Royal Society have shown that trees absorb almost 20% of man's carbon emissions.
All our trees are planted with our official partner Tree Nation. Tree Nation works in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, this official guarantee means our customers can be sure they are making a real difference. Every customer receives official certificates for the trees planted in their name. Tree Nation enables our customers to interact with their own virtual trees that represent each real tree planted in Niger, Africa. Every tree reduces CO2 by 500kg, and reduces poverty by providing local employment. The amazing Acacia Senegal tree fights against the desertification in Niger and assists the growth of agricultural foods and medicinal plants.
